Revive - A Quarterly Fly Fishing Journal | Page 36

The last day doesn’t disappoint as I experience more of everything I had hoped to on Moraine Creek. Big bears, lots of cubs and the largest rainbow I have ever landed. Looking around for an audience to share this with I quickly realize the bears don’t care and there isn’t another angler in sight. Brian and I fish bump, share a malted beverage and realize this is an experience neither of us will ever forget.

The flight back to Iliamna is a bittersweet one. I know I will come back but when. As we fly across the lake taking in as many of the sights as possible I jostle a long forgotten calendar in my head as to when the next opening may be…very soon!
