Revive - A Quarterly Fly Fishing Journal | Page 61

If one does venture to attempt tying in hand, may I suggest attempting "simpler" patterns. There are plenty of internet fly-tying resources in which a quick search can send you on this wild goose-chase. Find a good feather supplier and inquire about the tricks of the trade. Most, if not all, of those in the Atlantic Salmon tying community are of the helpful variety, be respectfully inquisitive. Enjoy the journey.

To keep fishing simple, or to make it complicated...to use a worm on a hook, or to tie superfluous dressings on the iron...to each his own. Whatever one does to maintain the joy in angling is important. However, as long as the angler does not frustrate his/her self with challenges to the point of exasperation and defeat, I say seek out a challenge to engage your mind, your soul...and see what the Good Lord has blessed you with.
