Revive - A Quarterly Fly Fishing Journal (volume 2 edition 1) | Page 129

If you had to pick one over the other on any given day, which would you prefer?

I love tattooing, but tattooing brings much stress with it. Fly fishing lends me a sense of peace that I can’t really get anywhere else. A little time on the water probably makes me a better tattooer, husband, and father.

Where you live what is your day to day target species and conversely, if you could live anywhere else and fish for any species where and what would it be?

I will usually fish for smallies and rock bass on the river. I can walk 2 minutes from my house and have line on the water. It doesn’t get much better than that, BUT if it did, I would live in Northern Maine and hit up the brookies whenever possible.

When you are fishing are you making mental notes for future projects whether on canvas or skin?

Sometimes I think about paintings when I am fishing. I see so many awesome pieces of art done in the name of this sport so I am always trying to think of what I can do to put my own spin or mark on the scene. I am a tattooer by heart and almost by nature it seems, so no matter what type of idea or imagery I have concocted in my head, it will always be influenced by tattooing.
