Bruce’s 4 books: Land of Hope and Glory, No More Law, Shut Up and Show Me, The Isaac Factor
I
n September 1990 a young theology
graduate from Durham University joined
KT’s Bible School, IBIOL – he was Bruce
Atkinson. Following IBIOL graduation the
next summer he joined the KT staff.
Two years later, in 1993, Bruce was appointed
as IBIOL Dean of Students, serving under the
then Principal, Chris Cartwright; this was a role
he held for four years. It was during this season
that KT launched the first overflow located
in Porchester Hall and Bruce was part of the
leadership team.
After receiving ordination into the Elim
ministry in 1997 Bruce moved to oversee KT’s
pastoral department before being appointed
as Associate Minister in 2000.
On Sunday 21st October at the 9am and 11am
services we gave thanks to God for Bruce’s
28 years of service, which has encompassed
many areas: preaching, teaching, pastoral care,
missions and leadership. We also prayed as a
congregation for Bruce as he moves on into
the future that the Lord has prepared.
Bruce has worked by my side for so many
years, he has been loyal and faithful to me and
to KT. I am convinced that in Bruce Atkinson
we have a choice, anointed, and gifted spiritual
leader; and God is going to open doors for him,
ones that we will all look at and know that
God has done it.
“My overwhelming emotion
today is one of gratitude and
thanksgiving. I came to KT
28 years ago, when I was 21
years old. The world was my
oyster and I found inside it
the pearl that is Kensington
Temple. I am grateful to
the congregation who have
encouraged me, and to Colin
and Amanda for their help
and oversight.
I will never really leave KT,
everything I have become
– my values and anointing -
have all come from God in
this house.”
