AN AUTUMN OF FRUITFULNESS FOR YOU !

The Jewish autumn Feast of Ingathering The major Jewish festival of the Feast of Tabernacles ( also known as the Feast of Ingathering , or Sukkot ) takes place each year sometime in late September or early October . The last of the three major pilgrimage festivals of the religious calendar , it celebrates the ingathering of the autumn fruit harvest ( Pentecost celebrates the gathering of the grain harvest ). Jewish people make temporary booths ( tents ) in their gardens to live in during this period just like the harvest farmers who lived in tents close to the fruit trees during the short period of ripe fruit . Living in the tents also allows Jews to identify and remember the Moses generation who lived 40 years in portable tents in the wilderness .
