PRAYER F
DIARY
rom this month we are incorporating
our Prayer Diary into Revival Times. Each
month you will receive special prayer points
to include in your personal devotional time and
also in your cell groups. We have also provided
a continuation of the KT Bible reading plan that
many of you are following.
“We can do nothing
without prayer. All things can
be done by importunate prayer.
It surmounts or removes all
obstacles, overcomes every
resisting force and gains its
ends in the face of invincible
hindrances.” em bounds
Prayer Fuel: Pray and keep praying!
“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you;
seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened
to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and he
who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be
opened. Now suppose one of you fathers is asked
by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake
instead of a fish, will he? Or if he is asked for an
egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? If you
then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your
children, how much more will your heavenly Father
give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”
Luke 11:9-13
Do you give up too soon?
We give up praying far too soon! One of Jesus’
constant themes in teaching on prayer is ‘Don’t give
up!’ Earlier on in Luke chapter 11 the disciples ask
Jesus to teach them how to pray. He responds by
teaching them the Lord’s Prayer. But he doesn’t stop
there, for in the rest of the chapter he talks about
persisting in prayer with the parable of the man who
knocked at his annoyed neighbour’s house in the
middle of the night for bread. Keep asking and you
will receive, keep seeking and you will find, keep
knocking and the door will open! Jesus reminds
them of the goodness of his Father who will always
give us what’s best for us and at just the right time –
he is the best Father in the world!
God is doing a great work in your life
through persistent prayer.
Don’t give up praying! Don’t get weary! Keep
asking! God is doing a great work in your character
when you persist in prayer, and this is the reason he
sometimes delays the answer – so he matures
you as a prayer warrior that never gives up until
God’s answer comes!
