The aim of a disciple is to become just like who they are following. brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him. Why would you want to be a follower or a student? – Because we all need to learn! We are all being taught by someone, or something… a mentor, teacher, friend, famous people, music or even a TV show… What are you a disciple of? The Bible study Discussion Questions: 1 Where was Jesus walking? 2 Jesus saw two brothers, Peter and his brother Andrew. What kind of jobs did they have? 3 Jesus told Peter and Andrew to follow Him and he would make them fishers of what? 4 How could Jesus make them fishers of men? 5 Going from there, Jesus saw two other brothers fishing with their father, what were their names? 6 Jesus called James and John to follow Him. How long did the brothers wait before deciding to follow Jesus? Let us take a look at some of Jesus’ first disciples he picked. Jesus Calls His First Disciples (Read Matthew 4:18-22) As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him. I do! So as disciples of Jesus, let’s throw our nets out, by living in a way Jesus would like us to live. And I am sure more people will come to Jesus in you, wanting to be his disciple too The competition Can you make a picture of the disciples in a boat, at sea, fishing for some fish?
