I came to KT 5 years ago . I did Living Free , Mastering Leadership and some evening IBIOL courses . I have grown much personally in character , purpose and my outlook in life because of it .
About 10 months ago I moved to a different cell which meets in my cell leader ’ s home . We pray , study the Word , share our thoughts , and discuss life matters together . Consequently , I was encouraged by my cell leader to do my Masters , which I am doing at the University of Liverpool . I thank God for my cell leader ’ s prayer and encouragement , which helped me to go on to further study . I have also started my cell and I am learning to care , guide and lead . One of my cell members is also encouraged to study and he is looking for a university that he could go to .
Without the cell vision I would have been lost in the congregation . I found accountability , guidance and prayers from the mature leaders . Without the cell it would have been extremely difficult for me to survive the Christian walk . From my experience I believe the cell vision is the best place to flourish . I thank God for this church and the leaders , who have a big vision which includes everyone .
I moved home many times in the last 2 years , which made it difficult for me to settle , however in all this the grace of God had helped me be stable and carry on with cell , work and study . I have so much to learn and to grow but I know I have come a long way . KT is a very good church and there are so many good and mature people in it . I am learning not to take it for granted .

I had been working in Insolvency for about 10 years but for a number of reasons I decided I wanted a new challenge working in Compliance for a bank . Part of the reason for wanting to move is that despite meeting my employer ' s monetary targets I felt my job was under threat , as I knew plans were in place to restructure and reduce staff in my department . At the same time I didn ' t feel appreciated , I was no longer enjoying the role . So I resigned from my job at the end of May 2016 , and stayed at home to look after my 9 month old daughter and 4 year old son .
During this time I was in regular contact with my cell leader Alex Kwakye , and he and other cell members prayed for me to find the right employment . I also did some soul searching , as I felt responsible for the difficulty I experienced in my job . I wanted guidance and mentoring from individuals within the church whom I had observed were able to combine a successful career with effective Christian ministry . I approached Dr Solomon Osagie , to seek his counsel on how I could effectively combine being a Christian with having a successful career .
From my first meeting with him , he made it clear that doing an MOT of my spiritual life would form the foundation of our interaction . In particular , we discussed how much time I dedicate to spending with God , praying and reading the Word . Following our discussions I decided to wake up an hour earlier every morning to reading the Bible and pray . Over the three months I was unemployed , this practice gave me strength and faith that I would find work . I still do it today , now that I have new job .
Secondly , Solomon encouraged me to apply for work in Compliance , my chosen area of interest . He helped review my CV and kept in regular contact with me during my job search . At one point I texted him daily to update him on how many applications I had made each day .
I also attended KT ' s training on CV writing , and preparing for interviews , led by Ron Salamat and Baba Awopetu , where I learnt useful tips on making successful job applications .
By coincidence an old contact that I knew from my time in KT ' s youth ministry , who worked in Compliance , visited KT . I wanted to contact him but didn ' t have his contact details . I spent about 30 minutes speaking with him that evening , to get an idea of what his line of work involves and how to get a role in that field . He subsequently helped me prepare for an interview , I didn ' t get that job but the information he gave me proved to be invaluable and helped me to secure my current role .
After a few failed interviews I eventually secured my current job , working for a major international bank , my first financial institution job , in their Compliance department , which was exactly what I had asked God for . ❖
