MARCELA PIACENTI, AGAINST ALL ODDS
Hard-Rock is the cradle of rockers, and for the first time in the Tribal Knowers co-
lumn, we show you one of them. Marce Piacenti is a singer, songwriter and classical
guitarist. Born in La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
From an early age she developed her interest in music, starting her classical guitar
lessons when she was six-years-old. She performed different works throughout her
adolescence, and at age 17 she became the lead singer of different bands of the
under circuit like Zangar, El Ángel del Silencio, Espektro, Quinto Cielo (covers) and
many others always oriented towards hard rock.
She completed his studies at Facultad Nacional de Bellas Artes, and dedicated her-
self to composing works that always showed her influences by the genre, in which
different musicians from her city participated.
Among her works mention is made of “Cielo Profano” (Profane Heaven), an E.P.
acoustic of unconventional format next to the guitarrist Jorge Madueño, that in-
cluded songs of its authorship and versions of subjects of the well-known Swedish
guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen.
Recognizing herself deeply admiring voices such as David Coverdale, Jorn Lande
and Erik Martin, she continued her career at Hard Rock until she formed the band
she led in 2006: LANNERBACH.
In July 2013, Ozone RadioRock records with Sound Technician Maxi Santone her
acoustic solo album “SHINE” an intimate and deeply expressive tribute in reference
to the great ballads of the genre. Continuing with Lannerbach she works with the-
mes of her own, some versions of Whitesnake and “Mercedes Benz” by Janis Joplin,
a song that opened new doors in the genre, having independently recorded in the
year 2014 the disc RE BIRTH with Gustavo López (drums), Máximo Greco (bass), and
Leonardo Bechini (guitar).
At the end of 2016 she recorded the second part of her acoustic work, the album
SHINE II, under the caption “There Is Nothing As The Power Of The Ligth”. Current-
ly, her stage art focuses on an electroacoustic format, with Mariano Muscagorry on
keyboard, Martin Alberti on Drums and percussion and Maximo Greco on bass, as
well as different guest musicians, an artistic expression totally stripped of precon-
ceptions, where Hard rock And blues abound and express themselves in freedom,
both in more complex subjects from their composition, to those that, being simple
songs, retain the strength and beauty that lie in authenticity.
