La doble calzada Vía Aeropuerto que va desde el parque deportivo hasta la calle 145 o también conocido como la transversal Chicalá, se proyecta como una nueva Ibagué, más moderna y productiva. Además de conectividad exclusiva para los diferentes usuarios; contará con una ciclo ruta de 5 metros de ancho, una de las más grandes del país, proyección de carriles exclusivos para el transporte masivo y franjas peatonales con generosas zonas verdes que aporten sostenibilidad y seguridad al peatón. Otra idea de gran impacto para la ciudad, es el de la terminal aérea, ubicado sobre la calle 145, la cual conecta desde la Variante Bogotá – Ibagué, lo cual habilitará a futuro servicios de vuelos internacionales, favoreciendo el turismo y comercio de la región.
