A
decade has passed since our company, Marítima Avila Group opened its doors in Venezuela, joining in its genesis to 4 professional experts in the maritime industry,
who identified a business opportunity in the services of integral shipping management. As with a sailor’s sunset, our shipping company, Marítima Avila SM, CA,
began, after long working days and anecdotes between the vast Caribbean Sea and our majestic Cerro Ávila, where it began its navigation to new horizons.
In the midst of a difficult national situation, one of our first challenges was to assist ship-owners who had no experience in their operation, maintenance and administration
of Seafarers; and entrepreneurs, cargo owners, who wanted to venture into shipping. This is where we identified an important business opportunity and support to the
maritime industry, which led us to grow as a major shipping company in a short time and to project our organization internationally.
It was not difficult to predict, with the business vision of our booming team, that we would broaden our horizons very soon. Thus, as a year of being founded, Marítima
Avila expanded operations by providing management services, Crew Management, Technical Management and Consulting, under the Panama flag, with an important and
solid portfolio of clients that we maintain until today.
One of the main characteristics of the services of our company has always been the willingness to provide a quality management - at the same time and in a balanced
way - seeking the highest safety in the maritime operation, the best quality of life and minimum risks for the crew in charge, with the best performance of the ship
owner’s resources; all in strict compliance with the processes established in our Security Management System (Safety Management System (SMS).
We are very pleased to have the recognition and permission of the Panamanian maritime authority to operate vessels that carry the most important flag of convenience
and the largest tonnage registry in the world and offer our services from one of the most important maritime epicenters and recognized of the planet as in fact Panama is.
Today, after 10 years of effort, work, dedication, honesty and responsibility, we have clients in Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Curacao, Aruba, Dominican
Republic, Miami, among others; increasingly confident in our processes and more attached to the regulations that the International Maritime Organization (IMO)
establishes us to carry out our work, protecting the environment and making our management more and more safe, efficient and controlled.
With the beginning of a new decade of our company, it is opportune to consolidate ourselves under the name Marítima Avila Group , in order to gather in a single concept
and with a new corporate image, all our services in different regions and business units.
The occasion in which we commemorate our first 10 years is pertinent to edit this special publication, to thank the dear Venezuelan and Panamanian friends who
supported us from the beginning of our business management; to the customers that one by one we were winning by heart and that until today they accompany us with
their confidence in our company and our dear collaborators, with whom we face new challenges every day and new dreams to overcome.
Since everything began as a dream, life is part of that dream, our work remains a dream full of challenges, full of studies, updates, travel, adventure, plans, training,
sharing, getting triumphs and sometimes frustrations; but the best satisfaction has been the generation of jobs bringing well-being and smiles to many families.
We hope in God, to continue doing so for many more years.
