A Colombian School

in a Global Context

rom its inception, nearly 34

years ago, Colegio Los Nogales
has always proudly and clearly
been defined as a Colombian school.
Los Nogales was founded to offer a
high quality, academically rich and rigorous education with an equal emphasis on the development of ethically and
spiritually complete individuals. The
mission was, and continues to be the
shaping of future leaders and citizens in
Colombia and the world.
While the essence and identity
of Los Nogales as a Colombian
school has never been doubted, the
founders were equally clear from

the start that Los Nogales must not
just be a Colombian school, but,
rather, a Colombian school in a
global context. Our founders wisely
understood that the two interests and
identities were complementary, rather
than conflicting. That the fullest
expression of our colombianidad can
only be understood when reflected in
the light of the world around us. We
develop our own identity, our sense
of place and purpose, through our
exploration and understanding of the
world around us. And, further, that
our duty is to help guide and shape
citizens of the world, not just of
Colombia.
