The universal call to Saintity was reassured at Second Vatican Council and also at Apostolic Exhortation. Pope Francis’s Gaudete et Exultate, based in evangelical mandate: “be perfect, as our celestial Father is”. (Mt. 5,48)
Supporting models of Christian life is important to the evangelic mission of the Church. Saints spread a message through their conduct and example and the Church, through beatification or canonization, facilitates the dissemination of those actions.
Presenting examples is key to educational purposes. It can be very motivating to show that these behaviors are not only possible, but they have been experienced by concrete and credible people. Making these life examples known is positive for society, because "if the good is known, it is contagious" and thus many are encouraged to follow the path of holiness.

Porqué un empresario ?
En la diversidad de las vocaciones humanas, la profesión de empresario es clave para el desarrollo social y económico y constituye un rol central en la vida actual. Por eso destacar que es posible combinar una trayectoria empresarial eficaz y exitosa con una vida interior plena, es importante para los católicos y para todas las personas de buena voluntad.
Esta particular vocación es un pilar para la necesaria transformación de un mundo que tiene que responder mejor ante una población con sus necesidades básicas insatisfechas y para reducir el flagelo de la desocupación.
Enrique Shaw fue un empresario que supo demostrar frente a las dificultades propias de sus circunstancias, que siempre se pueden dar respuestas acordes con las enseñanzas evangélicas.

Thanks to the strong impulse of John Paul II, previous Pope, the path to sanctity of the laity was widely spread, and the possibility that Enrique could be declared a Saint began to be seen.
In 1996 the then Monsignor and after Cardinal Jorge Mejía made a public invitation for ACDE, the institution that Enrique founded, to promote the beatification cause and the path started to be very active at this respect.
With the compilation and the reading of large amount of material that Enrique Shaw wrote and through testimonies that were gathered, it was confirmed that Enrique was an example of life principles that should be known as a lay model.
As an model for entrepreneurs, Shaw demonstrates the possibility of passing through the much questioned life of a company, making profitability and excellence of business management coexist successfully with the principles of the Social Doctrine of the Church.
Even more, as the great businessman that he was, Enrique Shaw’s work ethic shows that he sought from that subtle management to increase the benefits for the company and its people, obtaining an amazing commitment, respect and esteem from the personnel who enjoyed an optimal work environment.
