sintomas ou atrasa a progressão da doença , pelo não existe suporte para a utilização destes nutracêuticos como condroprotetores . 15 Existe um estudo que verificou que a associação das vitaminas D e E tem efeito potenciador da redução da sintomatologia em doentes com osteoartrose do joelho , assim como tem importante ação anti-oxidante , importante para a atenuação dos efeitos inflamatórios que geram os radicais livres . 25 Nenhum anti-inflamatório não esteroide revelou capacidade para diminuir a perda do espaço interarticular , mas este tipo fármaco é útil para promover o alívio da dor e ajudar na melhoria funcional . 13 Não existem evidências disponíveis na literatura para recomendar ou contraindicar a utilização de ácidos gordos polinsaturados , S-adenosilmetionina , metilsulfonilmetano , extracto de óleo insaponificável de abacate e soja , vitamina C e infiltração intra-articular com plasma rico em plaquetas .
Experiência Clínica Pessoal
Após cinco anos de uso de associações de glucosamina com condroitina , verificou-se num grupo de 100 pacientes os efeitos analgésico e estabilizador da progressão da osteoartrose em cerca de 70 % dos pacientes em uso prolongado de mais de um ano com toma diária e em 50 % dos pacientes com toma por períodos de 3 meses de medicação e 3 meses sem medicação . A avaliação foi realizada em inquérito clinico nas consultas de revisão obedecendo a uma escala analógica da dor de 0 a 10 pontos e a análise radiográfica das articulações afetadas . A análise radiográfica revelou estabilização da progressão artrósica evidente em 30 % dos pacientes .
Conclusão
O objetivo primário do tratamento da osteoartrose é o alívio sintomático e a melhoria funcional . Nesse sentido , uma abordagem multidisciplinar com procedimentos não farmacológicos e medicamentosos deve servir como ponto de partida para o tratamento do doente . No que respeita á abordagem farmacológica , o alívio da dor pode ser eficaz com analgésicos simples e anti-inflamatórios . A utilização a longo prazo de glucosamina e , provavelmente de condroitina , parece ser eficaz no atraso da progressão da doença .
