Dear Associates and Friends of SPAT The Portuguese Society of Arthros- copy and Sports traumatology (SPAT) is a scientific entity that promotes, disseminates and instructs in a very specific area of ortho-traumatology. Its past has revealed how useful it has been for medical training and its present and future ensures the continua- tion of quality and commitment in the training of skills in the areas of arthroscopy and traumatology of sport. We have developed several actions (conferences, journeys, courses, laboratory corpse, among others), supported several scien- tific events, supported fellowships, promoted scientific research and dissemination, notably through this magazine. All these actions have their costs and sometimes difficult to pay in due time. The regular and prompt payment of the quotas by the members is an essential tool for the pursuit of these activities. We want the sup- port of current and future associ- ates, not only in the fulfilment of this simple obligation, but also through the scientific contribu- tion. We want to have members in SPAT, so we present a new plan for collecting quotas and, at the same time, the motivation of our partners, so the board of the SPAT has deliberated the following: • Associates who have not paid their dues for more than 10 years will have a 5-year pardon and can pay twice (300 + 300€) and they will receive a screen printing (attached image); • Associates who do not pay the quotas between 5 and 10 years will have the forgiveness of 3 years and receive the screen printing as soon as they make the payment in full; • New associates receive screen printing as long as they make advance payment for the next three years. This plan is valid until 31 October 2018. We remember that the annual quota is only €60. It is believed that the non-payment occurs by default, so the payment is stimulated by bank transfer. Fail- ure to comply with this plan leads to the exclusion of the associate.
