Editorial
We ' ve reached the issue number 50 ! We all are of congratulations . With more or less collaboration , participation and stimulus , we ' ve come this far . This edition deserves , then , a gift ... two gifts . Already from this issue on we have the reference by Crossref , that is , the articles are identified by the " Doi ". Just click or write the assigned " Doi " to each theme and we will enter the PDF we are looking for . It is an evolution , it is an update that Dr . José Pedro Marques helped in its development . Now , in this regard , we are equal to the other scientific publications . And there comes the other gift ! It has been a great ambition to publish the papers in english as well . During the year of 2018 this will happen in the Apps and thus the magazine can be read around the world . We ' ll show you who we are , what we know and what we do in medicine in general and in particular in sports medicine . This is possible because Santa Casa de Misericórdia of Lisbon ( SCML ) and the Foundation of Sport ( FoS ) used their generosity and vocation to help others ( See NEWS ). This Magazine thanks the Provider of SCML , Dr . Edward Martin , and the president of FoS , Dr . Carlos Marta , this huge support . However , it is not possible to forget Dr . Paulo Marcolino ( interviewed in this issue ), the executive director of the Foundation , the work developed in recent years to achieve this support . The Revista de Medicina Desportiva informa is a scientific Portuguese national and international publication , published every two months . It aims to disclose sports medical contents through review and research topics , as well as to publish clinical cases related to the practice of sports medicine . It also discloses scientific meetings held in Portugal and abroad , and news as well . This magazine respects the Portuguese Law and is guided by criteria of exemption and scientific accuracy , ethical commitment and deontological respect .
