Later , she ventured into the landscape architecture of the second hotel built , the Rosewood Hotel . Within her functions , she was in charge of projecting , planning , and managing landscaping , preserving the original spaces to promote harmony between the building and the existing ecosystem . By July 2006 , architect Cruz was supervising the
2013 and obtaining the authorization of the Regional Environmental Impact Manifestation of the City . Mayakoba obtained the same year , two of the guiding axes of the mega project . An experience that greatly enriched his knowledge in the environmental area was having interacted in 2016 with a multidisciplinary group that studied the process of structural work in the beach area of the Viceroy Resort , a project developed by KOR Hotel Group ; designed by one of the main architecture studios in Mexico , Legorreta & Legorreta . However , this project was not developed due to the 2009 recession . Due to her excellent performance in her work , Laura was invited to participate in the construction of the Banyan Hotel beach villas ; with an oriental style . These 512 square meter villas are characterized by having 2 bedrooms with their own pool . With this project , Laura consolidated her career by capturing experience in the field . In 2009 she joined the Fairmont Heritage Place team , where she applied her knowledge in construction execution in planning and management of the architectural project , interior design and engineering ( electrical , hydraulic , special , lighting , etc .); applying and reaffirming her knowledge in logistics . Mayakoba being an international tourist destination , it attracted the attention of different investors interested in developing complexes in different parts of the Republic . Laura Cruz joined the Sustainable Development team in 2011 , collaborating in the preparation of the Master Plan for projects located in Baja California Sur , for Banco Sabadell and FONATUR . Among the most relevant projects in which architect Cruz has participated are the development and implementation of the Partial Urban Development Plan of Ciudad Mayakoba , published in the Official Newspaper erosion and retreat on the coastline , of the 14 km of the Punta Bete Regional Environmental System - Punta Maroma ; resulting in the Beach Recovery Project , collaborating in obtaining authorization regarding Regional Environmental Impact . She participated in the execution of the project , which consisted of the construction of 2 km of coastal dune , temporary reefs made of geotubes and barriers for wave dissipation . Laura ' s main function , as Sustainability Director , is to manage environmental authorizations and verify compliance ; in addition to verifying the environmental supervision of all programs of the Environmental Management and Management System . Currently , the department in charge of her has been consolidated , so her focus is to establish alliances with some organizations that have the same values ; encourage innovation , disseminate and accredit all the tasks carried out by the Sustainability Department , through the corresponding certifications . Currently , architect Laura Cruz has favorably obtained more than 20 environmental authorizations and continues to monitor the management of around 50 projects that she is in charge of . “ What I like most is the feeling that , from where I am , I can contribute my ' grain of sand ' to taking care of the environment ... We are turning Ciudad Mayakoba into a national and international benchmark in terms of Sustainability . I think it can be done ,” she considers .
