OCUS ON CHARITY WORK!
Atlanta Social Club is proud of all of our
accomplishments together. We wanted to take this opportunity
to share with you the impact we have had this year with
charitable efforts!
ALLIANCE FOR INTERNATIONAL REFORESTATION
ASC’s One-Year Anniversa-TREE Celebration
During ASC’s One-Year Anniversary Celebration, held on June
3rd, 2017, we raised $400 for the Alliance for International
Reforestation! AIR, for short, is an Atlanta-based charity that
works to train farm families, build efficient stoves, and plant
trees primarily in Guatemala. To date, over 3,000 farm families
have been trained, 860 efficient stoves built and over five
million trees planted and counting!
Furthermore, AIR recently received the prestigious Equator
Prize, which is given by the United Nations Development
Programme (UNDP). AIR is one of 15 winners out of 806
nominations from 120 nations worldwide! This is perhaps the
most prestigious prize the UN gives — awarding Sustainable
Development that uses local leadership.

BERT’S BIG ADVENTURE
ASC’s Majestic Bar Crawl
While dressing up as our favorite characters on June 24th, 2017,
ASC members and friends partnered with Atlanta Bar Crawls for a
great night exploring the Virginia Highlands and raising funds and
awareness for Bert’s Big Adventure, a local charity that provides
a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney
World ® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their
families. We were able to raise $750 for Bert’s Big Adventure!
Bert’s Big Adventure also provides year-round support
through multiple initiatives including the “Fairy Godparent”
volunteer program.

END IT MOVEMENT
HumpDay Mixer and The White Party
ASC is proud to have benefitted the End It Movement, which
works toward ending human trafficking and sex slavery during
two recent events as part of our ongoing collaboration with AIS
Media, Inc., Havana Night Club, and many local co-sponsors
and friends. The HumpDay Mixer on June 14th, 2017 raised
almost $3,000 and White Party on July 22nd, 2017 raised
another $2,500!

WELLSPRING LIVING
ASC’s Sip, Swap & Donate Event
On August 27, 2017, ASC members gathered up bags upon bags
of clothing, swapped out some items to freshen up wardrobes,
and donated an uncountable amount of clothing, shoes, and
accessories to Wellspring Living, a charity that supports local
victims of sex trafficking and abuse through retail stores that
raise funds, two centers for women, and educational and
vocational training programs. We also were able to raise $100 to
donate along with all the clothes!

PANCREATIC CANCER ACTION NETWORK | PURPLESTRIDE
HumpDay Mixer
We are looking forward to the next HumpDay Mixer on
September 27th, 2017, starting at 6:00 p.m. at Havana Night
Club. This event will benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action
Network, a charitable organization that attacks pancreatic
cancer on all fronts: research, clinical initiatives, patient services
and advocacy and their walk event, PurpleStride. See Page 7 for
more information on the charity and the event!
OTHER CHARITABLE EFFORTS AND VOLUNTEER WORK
ASC members have gathered volunteers together to support
a numerous variety of local charities. If you are a member
interested in joining others in these efforts, join the ASC
Helping Group for further discussion and organization
Your participation is directly responsible for making our
charitable efforts successful! We look forward to meeting each
