ASC MOMS
LET’S PLAY!
By Stephanie Chandler
Being a mom of two, under the age of five,
is a full-time job! It can be fun, messy, and
a little tiring, but seeing my little ones
smile is all the motivation I need to keep
going. I had my first child right out of
college with no other mommy friends in
sight. For me, this was uncharted territory.
More often than not, our play dates were
just “mommy and me” dates, which I still
love! With the birth of my second child, I
decided to join a mommy group chat that
consisted of about seventeen other moms
from Atlanta, Chicago, and overseas. It has
been my saving grace! Yes, every child is
different and every birth experience is not
the same, but the bonds of motherhood
and sisterhood consistently brings us
together.
My ASC moms and I have banded together
in search of fun activities to do this
summer with our little ones, and I wanted
to share a few of these with new moms in
the Atlanta area. PIEDMONT PARK
In the heart of midtown, Piedmont Park is
a great place for picnics, bike rides, a day
at the pool, or just letting the kids loose on
the large play area.
THE HIGH MUSEUM OF ART
The High offers free admission the second
Sunday of each month and hosts activities
for children from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. Don’t
get there too late, as the museum itself
closes at 5 P.M. CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF ATLANTA
Beginning in August, the museum offers
free entry to newcomers the second
Tuesday of every month, meaning
families who have never experienced
the museum before can come for free.
Must pre-register!
GYMBOREE PLAY & MUSIC
0-10 months
Great for play dates and meeting other
local moms with little ones. Be sure
to look out for special offers at select
locations, too!
