Family Night Out : an evening program for families with children of all ages. Family activities, Mother Goose circle time, family games, storytelling and multi-age group activities are all part of this fun time together. A light evening meal will be provided. Thursdays, October to May, 5:30-7:30 in Room 129 at the Early Years Centre. (Leap Land will also be open for families with children under 6) Parent Reading Workshops share strategies, materials and stories with parents to help lessen the stress and increase the enjoyment of reading at home. Parents have the opportunity to ask specific questions and discuss concerns around supporting their child’s reading. Call for upcoming dates. Community Book Exchange offers free books for all ages to borrow and bring back or keep and treasure. Locations include: Community Centre, Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy, the Food Bank, Family Laundry, Okanagan College, Public Health and QV Hospital waiting room. In addition, there is a free street library at Mackenzie and 3rd.
