Later in this issue, a report from Interpal, the global conference for the wood pallet and packaging industry, touches upon how the wood products industry in Europe came together to help clarify the benefits of wood packaging after it had been increasingly associated with negative perceptions such as solid waste generation and deforestation. The result was the successful Packaging from Nature program in Europe, and the Nature's Packaging initiative in North America.

In the current sustainability climate and given the urgent challenge of ocean plastic, should suppliers of plastic reusable packaging pool their resources to take a similar approach to helping the market better understand the overall value proposition offered by plastic reusables? In this vein, Steve Millward, General Manager at bakery equipment pooling company Bakers Basco, argues the case for plastic RTP (Reusable Transport Packaging) on Page 17. Thanks for reading.
