The software development team at RWS follows the proven and popular project management method called Scrum. The team works in two-week sprints to make progress on new features and improvements, releasing new code to software an average of three times every week! Scrum allows developers to live one of the company’ s core values, Continuous Sustainable Improvement, and ensures RWS products are constantly evolving and improving.
Here are just some of the NEW features, additions and improvements released during the first half of 2017:
• Better product data: addition of feature-specific images and feature-specific videos for over 75,000 models
• NEW furniture motion tags: sort chairs and sofas by reclining, power reclining, power lift, swivel, gliding, rocking and massaging
• NEW“ Cash Rebate Total” column lists dollar value of all cash-back rebates available now in RetailDeck TM and the WebFronts TM app
• NEW operational email alerts you when Level 4 automated marketing activities begin on your store’ s site
• NEW“ Effective _ Date =” URL parameter lets you view how a page will look on a future date
• NEW“ Maximum Delivery Distance” column defaults to RWS suggestions but allows retailers to customize maximum delivery distance order and quotes
• Speed improvements: added HTTP compression and more speed improvements per Google’ s new recommendations
• Mattress improvement: choose any depth of Mattress Line Hierarchy with a logo to show in“ Featured Brands”( e. g.,“ Beautyrest Black” instead of just“ Simmons”)
• NEW brand protection: GE Monogram items default to allow prices to be shown but not added to cart without retailer’ s specific permission
• NEW locations data structure moves control of store location information to the WebFronts app; adds ability to set atypical future hours and to choose in-store pickup by location
• Design improvement: you can now add a thumbnail image to go with each flyer on site
• Shopping improvement: consumers can now compare products across multiple pages
• NEW deployment of third party’ s Google Tag Manager codes without accessing site files— just enter the tag ID
• NEW Advanced Product Flagging now requires just one click to add any of the following best practice flags to items: On Display, In Stock, Get It Today, Express Delivery, Best Seller and Clearance
• Two NEW ways( three total) to show each item in other colors: grid with icons, drop-down list or table with radio buttons
• NEW comprehensive staging environment built to support migrations to the upcoming new platform; allows retailers to keep the same account and simultaneously view live site and new site
• Updated and redesigned mattress brand landing pages to reflect new lines, add more brand-value copy and enhance emphasis on adjustable bases
