It is very important because it is used to breath, to the gas Exchange.

2.What is the epiglotis and whats its function?

is a flap that is made of elastic cartilage tissue covered with a mucous membrane, attached to the entrance of the larynx.

The function of the epiglottis is to prevent food and drink from going down the airway to prevent shocking.

3.Can someone live with only one lung?

You can live with only one lung if the surgery is completed properly and correctly. Someone can lose a lung as from an injury or cancer. It would take some amendment, but a person can continue to exist with just one lung.
