This booklet is written for women from the Arabic
speaking community living in Melbourne’s north
who may be experiencing family violence or know
someone who is.
Family violence is a problem for women and families
in all Australian communities. This brochure provides
information about family violence and support
services in your own language and relevant to your
community’s experience.
A majority of family violence victims are women
and this brochure is intended to speak to their
experiences. However, men can be victims of family
violence too. The information provided here regarding
legal rights and some support services is also relevant
to male victims.
