Foothills Housing Network offers Emergency Housing Services to individuals / households experiencing homelessness and those facing immediate eviction who have no other place to go.

Madison Emergency Services Association( MESA) through Barbara’ s House can provide shelter for up to five( 5) families at a time as well as offer a mentoring program for those facing homelessness.

CCDC, founded in 1988, grew out of a need for emergency housing for the homeless. In 1991 CCDC recognized that the cause of homelessness was due to the lack of safe decent and affordable housing. They have strived to meet this need and at the same time provide the tools for becoming self-sufficient.

Individuals and families can get dinner, breakfast and a warm place to sleep at night. At 5pm daily, be at the parking lot by the Culpeper Food Closet, behind St. Stephens Episcopal Church, across from the train depot. Transportation to the shelter is around 5:30pm daily. To get into the shelter, you must be sober; you may bring one bag; no alcohol, drugs or weapons.

The Salvation Army administers the SHARE / Homeless Intervention Program( HIP) and the Center of Hope – Transitional Housing program at this location. Singles and families are accepted. Applicants must meet the program criteria; a caseworker will determine eligibility.

The Victory Transitional Housing( VTH) offers transitional housing to homeless families and individuals with a broad range of needs. The program’ s caseworkers help individuals achieve and sustain a higher quality of life through counseling, resources, life skills classes and money management. To be eligible for the program, you must have employment and a reliable vehicle. When funding is appropriate, CTI will also help with Security Deposit, Rental assistance and Utility payments to homeless families. Skyline CAP, Inc. is a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. Counselors are available to assist with all aspects of buying a home and owning a home.
