Madison County Habitat for Humanity is part of a
global, nonprofit housing organization operated on
Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into
action by building homes, communities and hope.
Madison County Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to
eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide
through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving
homes; by advocating for fair and just housing
policies; and by providing training and access to
resources to help families improve their shelter
conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the
conviction that every man, woman and child should
have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and
safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities
should be a matter of conscience and action for all.

The USDA Rural Development provides single family
housing loans and grants. Single Family Housing
Programs provide home ownership opportunities to
low- and moderate-income rural Americans through
several loan, grant, and loan guarantee programs.
The programs also make funding available to
individuals to finance vital improvements necessary to
make their homes decent, safe, and sanitary.
The Multi-Family Housing Programs offer Rural
Rental Housing Loans to provide affordable multifamily rental housing for very low-, low-, and moderate
-income families; the elderly; and persons with
disabilities. This is primarily a direct mortgage
program, but funds may also be used to buy and
improve land and to provide necessary facilities such
as water and waste disposal systems. In addition,
deep subsidy rental assistance is available to eligible
