Over recent weeks members of our Leadership Team have been connecting with our teams across the world and it has been wonderful to hear stories of changed lives and communities experiencing the love of Jesus in a myriad of practical ways .
From people in Mozambique yearning to hear God ’ s Word on MP3 players to people meeting Jesus through creation care projects in South East Asia , we celebrate God at work across the globe !
And you – as a valued partner of Baptist Mission Australia – are a vital player in our big team , embracing God ’ s gracious invitation to mission across the globe . Thank you for your unique contribution to our shared ministry in 2022 .
This year I have had the privilege of visiting seven countries , connecting with some of our teams and leaders from across our global Baptist movement . It was great to finally get on the ground with intercultural team members in their unique contexts .
In this edition of Resonate we have a feature story from our team in Malawi . It was a joy to connect with local Yawo faith communities in August and to meet local leaders , who are becoming passionate disciple makers in their own communities . Our team have a great story of God at work in Malawi .
While in Africa I also spent time in Zambia with Roger Kemp , one of the legends of our mission community . You can read more about Roger ’ s vital leadership training ministry on pages 7-8 of this edition .
By 2060 it is expected 40 % of followers of Jesus around the world will live in Africa , so investing in local leaders today is a very strategic ministry .
As we celebrate God at work in so many different ways in 2022 , I am thankful for the launch of Walk the World in November . I am thankful for the hundreds of people across Australia who engaged in the event , praying for their local community and our teams across the world .
This edition of Resonate is our 40th and that ’ s worth celebrating ! I want to acknowledge the dedicated and creative work of our editor Teagan .
