Hello and welcome to our new look Resonate magazine .
We value the importance of communicating with our partners and have been reviewing how we can do this more effectively as a mission community . We have seen through May Mission Month the high demand for digital resources from churches and partners and we will continue to develop high-quality online material .
But we also value the benefits of a printed magazine and so we ’ re excited to be launching this new magazine in 2021 .
Through it , we ’ re bringing together the up-to-date stories of Vision with the thought-provoking articles of Resonate . We trust you enjoy the new look and value our commitment to good stewardship with the production of a single magazine .
We ’ re also developing a new website in 2021 and this will provide a ‘ one-stopshop ’ for written and video stories from across the world and our Australian Baptist movement . Stay tuned for more details !
In this first edition of the new look Resonate it ’ s great to look back and celebrate all the ways Global Interaction has shared stories with partners throughout the years ( pages 9 - 10 ).
We also have the opportunity to read about how our people are walking alongside , embodying the good news of Jesus in communities around the world .
Just as we see in the life of Jesus , being with , saying and doing are at the heart of our missional approach .
Be encouraged as you read of how our team in the Silk Road Area are doing this ; humbly but passionately walking alongside their neighbours , bearing witness to Jesus in culturally appropriate ways , desiring to see their local community transformed by God ’ s love ( pages 2 - 6 ).
Our VIC / TAS State Leader Geoff Maddock and Mozambique team member Cam explore some big questions ( pages 11 - 13 ). And as you flip through the pages , you will find other inspiring stories of our teams embracing God ’ s gracious invitation to join Him across the globe .
I love the ‘ alongsider ’ image . It reminds me of the wonder of God breaking into human history , as Jesus comes alongside us in the flesh !
It encourages me that I can come alongside others , as the hands and feet of Jesus , in my neighbourhood . It enables me to celebrate partnership , seeing how I can come alongside team members across the world and in Outback Australia , prayerfully , practically and financially .
