MLA’S DAUGHTER COMMITS SUICIDE
Gagana Reddy (17), a pre-university student in a private college in Koramangala, and the daughter of Bommanahalli MLA, M Sathish Reddy, was allegedly found hanging at their residence in Madiwala last month. Since there was no suicide note, one theory doing the rounds was Gagana’s alleged love affair with a boy that her parents didn’t approve of.

The residents and shopkeepers of Parangipalya on 24th Main Road in HSR Sector 2 have petitioned Excise Commissioner Shambhu Dayal Meena to cancel the excise licence given to the owners of Bindu Bar and Restaurant located on 24th Main Road. They are citing frequent drunken brawls and environmental degradation being the main reasons. It is also alleged that the owners of Bindu Bar and Restaurant are now constructing a multistorey building a few feet away, encroaching a part of the road and footpath.
BURGLARS LOOT SEVEN HOMES DURING LONG WEEKEND
Burglars had a field day over the extended Ramzan weekend with seven house break-ins and thefts reported across the city last month. BTM Layout and HSR Layout were among the areas targetted. In six cases, residents were out of town. Gold ornaments and silver articles allegedly worth Rs 18 lakh were looted in BTM Layout when businessman Ashwath Lal (46) was in Goa with his family. Police said burglars had cut open the windows at the rear. Small-time businessman Kolandavelu, a resident of 18th Main, HSR Sector 3 returned home with his family after a weekend trip to Tamil Nadu to find gold ornaments of about 150gms and other valuables stolen.
