The Certified Manager of Community Associations ( CMCA ) qualification was also made available to CAISA members in 2015 as a paper and pencil exam . CAISA is currently playing a leading role in introducing an international standard to the CMCA . This will be available to members as a paper and pencil exam from September 2016 . The Professional Management Development Programme has proved very popular among CAISA members , more than a hundred of whom have successfully taken the exam .
Community Associations and Schemes ( iCAS101 )
An Introduction to Community Associations and Schemes ( iCAS101 ) course is currently in the development stage . Extensive research and input from experts in the industry will enable CAISA to provide an entry and introductory course to staff , service providers and other role players . The iCAS101 course should be available from September 2016 and will cover the following topics : Legal Basis of a Community Association , Rule Development , Rule Enforcement . Financial Management , Budgets , Collecting Levies , Financial Statements , Audits , Taxes and Investments . Facilities Management , Maintenance , Sustainable Lifestyle , Request for Proposal ( RFP ), Contracting , Risk Management . Future
Training , development , education and mentoring are the future of any industry in South Africa . The South African landscape is changing fast , and with the Community Scheme Ombud Service will change even more over the next three to five years . The training and development of industry role players will therefore intensify over the next few years , and CAISA is well positioned to continue to fulfil its mandate .
