The South African Landscapers Institute (SALI)
was formed in 1984 as a voluntary association
by a group of progressive landscapers who saw
the potential of the landscape industry in South
Africa. They believed that the true potential could
only be realised if landscape contractors showed
unity, produced excellent work and projected a
professional image.
SALI’s aim is to improve the image and
standing of the landscape industry and to
promote the participation of all role players
in this industry in South Africa by encouraging
training, higher standards, professionalism,
ethical conduct and social interaction through
regular meetings, conferences, workshops and
liaison with business, training and government
institutions, statutory bodies, and employer and
employee organisations.
SALI is a national body that is represented in
the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
The client of a SALI member can expect high
standards of workmanship, plants and materials.
The client has the security of knowing that
behind a SALI contractor stands a responsible
institute.
This is especially valuable for residential estates,
which need to know that their landscaping
service provider has gone through an application
process to verify that its work is of an
acceptable standard, so we encourage all ARC
members to make use of SALI members.
SALI is a founding member of the South African
Green Industries Council (SAGIC), and thus is part
of a network of associations that represent the
green industries as a whole. SAGIC is made up
of various disciplines that are major employers
val de vie Estate
of people and suppliers of products and services
in the green marketplace.
