Enlisted Aviators make up the majority of RAF Reservist personnel , bringing their specialist skills to support vital roles . As you gain experience and qualifi cations you can work your way up the rank structure .
The rank structure for �n�i�t�� ��iat�r� , in ascending order , is :

On completion of the recruiting and selection process ( �n�i�t�� ��iat�r� selection test , interview , medical , pre-joining fitness test ) �n�i�t�� ��iat�r� then go through the following training :
Up to eight days ( four weekends ) pre-Basic

1 Recruit Training Course ( BRTC ) on squadron .

Undertake the 15- day BRTC at RAF

2 Halton where you ’ ll receive chemical , biological , radiological and nuclear survival training , first aid skills and weapons training .

Phase 2 specialist

3 schools pertinent to your trade .

���i�ers are the RAF ’ s equivalent of a management role . As an officer you will lead teams of Enlisted Aviators to work as a unit to complete a task or mission . Officers are recruited in two ways : from within the ranks and as direct entrants with specific qualifi cations .
As and when positions arise , personnel from within the Reservist ranks ( with the right experience ) may be eligible to apply for a Commissioned Officer role .
If , however , you have professional qualifications in one of the following roles , you can apply as a direct entrant : legal , medical , dental and media .
The rank structure for Officers , in ascending order , is :

Selected Officers ( professional qualified direct entrant – medical & dental , legal , media officer and chaplain ) undertake :

Two-day selection course at the Officer and Aircrew Selection Centre ��A��� � inclusive o� �itness test�
Undertake the same basic training as Enlisted Aviators�
Reserves Officer Initial Training ( ROIT ) is undertaken at RAF Cranwell �olle�e delivered by the Officer Training A�ade�� ( �A� ��A ). The course is delivered through : distance learning , four training weekends and a 15-day residential course .
Phase 2 specialist training is undertaken

4 at separate training schools pertinent to your branch .
