A series of presentations from professionals highlighted examples of best practice in their chosen fields and discussions took place around these . For the first time this year , attendees had the chance to submit an entry into the Best Practice Day Awards before the big day , which were then judged by PPIE team member Laura Campbell .
Categories included innovative practice , exceptional leadership , service redesign , implementation of research and recognition of contribution . The overall winners were the Extended Scope Physiotherapists ( pictured ) who are based at the Haywood Hospital . Laura chose them to win because of their drive to improve services for patients by creating a culture of evaluation and service improvement at the hospital .
