ello and welcome to the 2017 Spring edition
of the Research User Group newsletter!
The last six months have been busier than ever,
with plenty of research advisory group meetings,
RUG recruitment, conferences, presentations
and events. We’ve tried to include as many
things as possible inside this edition and so we
hope you enjoy catching up on all the news from
the Patient and Public Involvement and
Engagement Team, the Research Institute and
fellow RUG members.
The most notable event since the last
newsletter has been our spectacular 10 year event
which took place at Keele Hall in September. The
day was a huge success and everyone who
attended thoroughly enjoyed the presentations, posters, discussion and of course the RUG 10 year anniversary
celebratory film.
It truly was a day to celebrate the fantastic achievements that the RUG has made over the last decade, and we
would like to thank all of you who came and all of you who have given us your time, hard work and support over the
years.
It’s been a busy start to 2017 and since the last newsletter, which you received in September 2016, we have
held 51 research advisory group meetings, six task and finish implementation meetings, 14 research Trial
Steering Committee meetings and bi-monthly meetings of the LINK and RUG Steering Groups.
We understand how busy you all are and so as the centre continues to grow and develop, and as Patient and
Public Involvement and Engagement becomes more and more in demand, we would like to say once again that
we are forever grateful and thankful to you all, for giving up your time to come in and share your experiences to
make the research carried out here more relevant and beneficial for patients.
