RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
Research Clusters
Monash University Malaysia is an integral member of the Asian and global academic community with many scholars
focusing on issues broadly related to Asia. GA21 as a multidisciplinary research platform looks to bring together Monash
Malaysia scholars and their collaborators working on frontier research on Asia and its role on the global stage.
The GA21 platform supports diverse research clusters where communities of multidisciplinary scholars come together to
establish, examine and interrogate critical research themes that explore Asia’s economic, social and political emergence
on the global platform.
This research platform has identified 6 primary clusters that academics within Monash Malaysia research individually and
collaboratively. These are (1) Culture and Values, (2) Health and Wellbeing, (3) Science, Technology and Society, (4) Market
Analytics, (5) Halal Ecosystem and (6) Sustainable Development.
Each cluster is headed by a cluster leader who encourages academics to set up individual projects or form multidisciplinary
teams to work on the key themes.
