ancient Greece and explain how dialogues of the
Greco-Roman world are intended to be read. It will
trace key developments in the genre and examine
specific significant examples. The historical context
of these dialogues will be considered and the issues
that need to be taken into account as one uses these
sources to help reconstruct or understand the past.
