Dear Reader...
Have you ever wondered where our explorers have reached in the Americas? Perhaps you are interested in the latest designs in ships that are making voyages safer each day? Or maybe you just want to catch up with any recent news back in Europe? If you answered yes to any of these questions, I definitely recommend you pick up a copy of my brand new magazine. Welcome to the very first issue of “A Sailors Magazine”.
When creating this magazine, I wanted to make it as informative and entertaining as possible. To do this, I will include the following sections along with several illustrations:
A page-turning News story about Magellan's death during his voyage! Expect an article that will enlighten you like no other.
A feature article where I will divulge the true identity of one of the Renaissance masterminds for my readers: Brunelleschi.
An Editorial article - Where I will take a position and express my opinion on the argument between Luther and Erasmus.
An Advice column with the latest tips on how to stay away from the Plague. (These pages could save your life!)
An entertaining comparison article to differentiate how, where, and why different countries are building their overseas empires.
Also, a number of additional pages, focused on Sailors and voyages!
After reading the contents of my upcoming magazine, I am quite certain that at least a couple of sections may have interested you. Maybe it was the revealing of one of the Renaissance’s fathers, or perhaps the thought of overseas Empires just won’t leave your mind. Either way, this honest, informative, and knowledgeable paper has the potential to be one of the most read magazines of our times. I will try to make the sections fit a wide range of audiences, to ensure that all my reader are satisfied. In fact, a map of the Americas will be included in our first issue! Courtesy of Matthias Ringmann. I leave you with a quote from Christopher Columbus:
“By prevailing over all obstacles and distractions, one may unfailingly arrive at his chosen goal or destination.”
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter, and I sincerely hope that this magazine interests you, and that you decide to read a copy.
Warmest regards,
Bruno Brazda
