owners’ fave dishes. Ate Lanie makes her own menu, and everything else is pitched in by staff or by guests. This is how personal they can really get.
One of their best sellers is their Mint Fish, which actually came from a guest. The idea of cooking the fish came from the guest, and the mint came from Quintin’ s mom. So not only are your comments and suggestions being heard, they become a part of Club Serena’ s growth too.
An Open Invitation
Club Serena Resort doesn’ t tell you to go there because of this and that and whatnots. They’ re actually very selfish that way. But what they do is, when someone wants to come, to tell them: To find Club Serena is to find one’ s self. A place of new adventures, a place to make new friends and a place to call home. These are the words they say about Club Serena. Everything is personalized. They make you feel at home and they make you feel the place is yours while you’ re there. That’ s something luxurious hotels won’ t offer you.
The best season to visit the resort and

“ Welcome Home.”

— Quintin Garcia Gomez Club Serena Resort Owner
Moalboal is during Holy Week. It is the time when the weather is good, water is flat, the skies are clear, you can see the islands right in front of you, and the visibility is great for diving. Couples, families, backpackers, actiongoers, everyone is welcome. The resort caters to different markets and different people. Again, it all depends on the mood.
The place is usually booked during all touristy seasons, peak seasons, and even during the times when you expect it to be quiet, so I would suggest planning your trip early.
Sweet Goodbye
We ended our night with a couple of drinks and some Margarita pizza at a local bar and before parting with Quintin, I asked him one

last thing: one word to describe Club Serena. He answered with a smile,“ How‘ bout two? Welcome. Home.” They were indeed the perfect words to describe Club Serena and our weeklong experience with their staff, the locals, the adventures, the meals, and the idyllic sea and the“ exclusive” atmosphere. We drove back to the resort, went straight up to our rooms and slept the night away.
The place has truly captivated my heart and I know it has for many others. •
