The Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM)
program at Anoka High School is designed for students who want
to explore the connections between the arts, sciences, engineering
and math while further developing technology and computer
skills. STEAM uses project- based learning and the design thinking
model to engage students. The classes in the STEAM program
will strengthen students’ abilities to be creative and flexible problem
solvers, explore different ideas, recognize failure as opportunities
for discovery and to communicate well with others! Students have
the opportunity to delve into 3D modeling, design and fabrication,
dance, photo/video/digital media, music, and more!
Applications accepted in Grades: 9 or 10.

• Explore careers related to technology, the arts and engineering
through field trips, industry speakers, and partnerships
• Develop and apply technology/computer science skills
in the arts, science, engineering and math
• Earn AP and articulated college credit in a variety of elective courses
• As a senior, participate in the Honors Design and Development
course or an internship
• Create a digital portfolio of your designs/projects/creations

*This program accommodates band,
orchestra and choir students.
Students can choose from a large selection
of electives to complete the required 12
sections of STEAM. Students meeting the
requirements earn STEAM Certification on
their transcript and will have a digital
portfolio of their designs/projects/creations!
