Wood Technology II Prerequisite / Selection Process: Wood Technology I Intended Audience: Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit Major Outcomes:
• Advanced machine woodworking techniques
• Cabinetry skills Projects, Activities, etc.: Woodworking project with drawer and door construction Instructional Focus: Advanced woodworking through hands-on activities and projects with the application of real-world mathematics
Wood Technology III Prerequisite / Selection Process: Wood Technology II Intended Audience: Grades 10, 11, and 12 Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit, art credit Major Outcomes:
• Skills for larger assembly-type projects
• Furniture design
• Advanced machine operation, hardware application, finishing techniques, joinery construction project of your choice with teacher’ s approval
Projects, Activities, etc.: Project of your choice with teacher’ s approval Instructional Focus: Advanced woodworking through hands-on activities and individual project design with the application of real-world mathematics
Home Maintenance Intended Audience: Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit Major Outcomes:
• Learn how to build outdoor structures
• Learn how a house is“ put together”
• Correctly use hand and power tools
• Learn how to replace and maintain electrical fixtures, drywall, tile, plumbing fixtures and other common home maintenance issues.

Projects, Activities, etc.: Sawhorse, mockups, shed construction, computer simulations and demonstrations, and other projects. Instructional Focus: Hands-on experiences and use of tools with emphasis on mathematical concepts related to home maintenance
AC Carpentry: Framing [ BHS only ] Prerequisite / Selection Process: Home Maintenance class is strongly recommended Intended Audience: Grades 10, 11, and 12 Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit Students can also earn 2 college credits [ AC ] Major Outcomes:
• Exterior Framing
• Roofing
• Window & Exterior Door Installation Projects, Activities, etc.: Construction of a 3 bedroom home! Instructional Focus: Math-related program understandings are addressed; hands-on experience and use of power tools with emphasis on mathematical concepts related to carpentry.

• Discrete, integrated circuits

• Analysis of electronic circuits
• Robot construction and programming Projects, Activities, etc.: Electronic projects Instructional Focus: Advanced electricity and electronics introduction to electricity and electronic-related mathematics
MANUFACTURING
Metal Technology I [ AHS, BHS, CPHS, CRHS only ] Intended Audience: Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit Major Outcomes:
• Oxy-Acetylene Welding [ OAW ]
• Sheet Metal / Bench Metal
• GMAW / SMAW Welding
• Foundry
• Plasma Cutting Projects, Activities, etc.: Welding skills, welding techniques, project based sheet metal and foundry, design and complete project using metal forming tools and welding. Instructional Focus: Introduction to the metal fabrication industry with emphasis on metal forming, precision, mathematics, and joining techniques through lab work.
