A “Mission Enterprise Zone” is a geographic area,
group of congregations, or entire diocese committed to mission and evangelism that engages groups
under-represented in The Episcopal Church,
including youth and young adults, people of color,
poor and working-class people, people without a
college degree, and/or people with little or no church
background or involvement. We provide grants,
training, and support for planting congregations
and starting Mission Enterprise Zones.
TRAINING AND SUPPORT FOR NEW MINISTRY
In the past several months, the Missionary Society has hosted nearly 70 hours of online startup
coaching and strategy sessions for close to 150
new-ministry leaders, all via videoconference. We
offer trainings in partnership with the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America, a full-communion
partner of The Episcopal Church.
