VOLUNTEERING:
SOCIAL SABBATICAL
Since 2018, goetzpartners has encouraged employees to volunteer
for social projects for up to six months to gain experience that extends
beyond the business world and do something good. Manuela
Hawkridge, a physician by training, was one of the first colleagues
to participate in the program and spent three months working in
the children‘s unit of an Israeli hospital.

As a physician by training, I chose to
support the children’s unit at a Tel Aviv
hospital during my Social Sabbatical. These
three months showed me how invaluable a
relationship among equals with professionals
from different cultural backgrounds is.
But what touched me most was the openness

of the small patients – their smiles made my
time at the hospital unforgettable.
