MINISTER STEVEN D. CHAVIS of High Point, NC entered into eternal rest on the morning of October 13, 2013. Steven was born August 28, 1969, the fourth son of the late Bedford Horatius Chavis and Nellie Hester Chavis. Steven is survived by his wife Tricia Rentz Chavis, mother, Nellie Hester Chavis, three brothers, Bernard (Michele) Chavis, Darryl Chavis, and Jerry (Linda) Chavis, father and mother-in love, Johnnie and Cynthia Rentz, 1 brother-in love, Johnnie Rentz, Jr. several nieces, nephews, godchildren, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

A Poem For A Man of God: An Appreciation of Steven D. Chavis
They say time waits for no man
But God is patient with us all
Mr. Chavis was no ordinary man
After God's on heart let him be called
No more pain no more stress
His freedom is written in the skies
For in peace he now can rest
This is his home going so no more cries
Have faith in the God we believe
Trust in the Lord's great will
From this Earth someday we leave
He paid the price for us so heaven is on our bill
God's arms are open to mr. Steve
So please shed no more tears
For his wife and family he's free
For the work he's down through the years
God bless you all and please know that Mr. Steven D Chavis was a great man and will always be remembered for his achievements his love of his friends family wife and God so please find peace in knowing he has peace
