Earl Francis Lloyd (born April 3, 1928 in Alexandria, Virginia) is a retired American basketball player. He was the first African-American to play in the National Basketball Association, in the 1950-51 NBA season.

Gabby Douglas is the first woman of color and the first African-American gymnast in Olympic history to become the individual all-around champion. She is also the first American gymnast to win gold in both the individual all-around and team competitions at the same Olympics.
