has nothing to do with following all the latest
trends. It is about dressing in a way that reflects your personality and making the most
of yourself – and if that includes the latest
trends that’s fine – but if it doesn’t that’s fine
too. In creating your own style you will develop the confidence to treat fashion with a
healthy and interested respect, to pick what
flatters and discard what doesn’t.
Always shop in stores that allow you to try
things on and offer full-length mirrors for a
front and back view. As you look in the mirror
ask yourself some questions? Does it fit and
do I look good in it? Is it really what I want?
Does it work with the rest of my clothes? Walk
around the changing area. Do the clothes
rise up, cling in all the wrong places or pull
across the bust? Does the neckline sit comfortably or is it too wide and are the shoulder
seams sitting where they should? It’s easy
to be impressed with the color of a garment
or an eye-catching print and yet totally ignore the fit. Taking a friend with you can be
a positive step if you choose someone you
know has fashion style. However, you need
someone who won’t be afraid to give you
a totally honest opinion. I find a very useful tip is to take time over my purchases
because rushing things can equal costly
mistakes. Having chosen the garments I
like I’ll ask the store assistant to put them
by for me. I’ll then take a coffee break as
this affords me the opportunity to think
over my decision one more time.
