Healthy Nevada Project
The Healthy Nevada Project ( HNP ), powered by Renown Health , has become the largest community-based population health study in the world with over 50,000 participants . The no-cost genetic research study gives participants insights into their genetic background by screening for genetic risks related to Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Syndrome ( HBOC ), Lynch Syndrome – the most common cause of colorectal cancer and Familial Hypercholesterolemia – a genetic disorder that increases the likelihood of having coronary artery disease .
By better understanding how genetics , environment , social factors and healthcare interact , we can make a genuine difference in the health and well-being of the people and communities we serve .
To participate , sign up online at HealthyNV . org to receive a DNA test kit at home . For in-person testing , visit hnp . timetap . com to schedule an appointment in Reno , Sparks or Carson City .
