Care must always be taken when working above the ceiling in sensitive areas
Workers must always be mindful of disturbing dust , debris or insulation when lifting ceiling tiles
For above ceiling inspections , no special equipment or procedures are currently required – that should remain the case as long as workers remain diligent about the care they exercise above ceiling relative to dust and debris
Remember – this rule applies only to inspections and very minor maintenance ( i . e . turning a valve or adjusting a damper , as long as such work does not create significant dust )
Emergency Situations – floods , fires and loss of certain utilities will take precedent over infection control procedures and in those cases precautions will be temporarily by-passed
