Airborne Infection Control During Construction : Dust

• Negative air machines , when used , must be left running 24 / 7 to maintain negative air in a contained construction area .

• Containment must be air tight ( as much as possible ) with or without negative air machine to control dust

• Demolition always requires containment – barriers and filtered exhaust

• Pulling cable – E . C . U . or equivalent in sensitive ( high risk ) areas

• Sanding / drywall – need dust collecting HEPA vacuums or wet sanding

• Flooring – may require containment and air monitoring in sensitive area
