Credentials Committee, and the relevant Department Chair. If any of those individuals has any concerns about the renewal request, the matter shall be forwarded to the full Credentials Committee for review and recommendation.
( 5) if the individual will require privileges for more than two( 2) one hundred and twenty( 120)-day periods, he / she must formally apply for Affiliate category membership; and
( 6) a locum tenens physician / APP whose contract is cancelled does not have rights to a fair hearing. 5
( c) Other. Temporary privileges may also be granted in other limited situations by the CEO or CMO / VPMA, upon recommendation of the Chief of Staff, when there is an important patient care, treatment, or service need. Specifically, temporary privileges may be granted for situations such as the following:
( 1) to fulfill an important patient care, treatment, and service need, or
( 2) when an applicant for new privileges with a complete application that raises no concerns is awaiting review and approval by the Medical Executive Committee and the governing body.
The following factors shall be considered and verified prior to the granting of temporary privileges in these situations: current licensure, relevant training or experience, current competence, current professional liability coverage acceptable to the Hospital, and results of a query to the National Practitioner Data Bank.
The grant of clinical privileges in these situations shall not exceed one hundred and twenty( 120) days, consecutive or not, anytime during the twenty-four( 24)- month period following the date they are granted. In exceptional situations, this period of time may be extended in the discretion of the CEO or CMO, and the Chief of Staff. Requests by an individual practitioner for temporary privileges may not exceed more than two( 2) in a calendar year.
( d) Compliance with Bylaws and Policies. Prior to any temporary privileges being granted, the individual must agree in writing to be bound by the bylaws, rules and regulations, policies, procedures and protocols of the Medical Staff and the Hospital. Individuals who are granted temporary privileges shall be subject to the Hospital policy regarding focused professional practice evaluation.
