The Mustard That Refuses to Be Boring

Sure, it’ s great on a hot dog. But this humble condiment has a lot more to offer.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with putting mustard on a hot dog. Some mustards were practically made for it. But what if that was only the beginning?
At Yellow Deer Mustard, a small batch producer in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, a familiar condiment is being given a much bigger role at the table.
Made with Canadian grown mustard seed and carefully selected ingredients, the collection moves from sweet and savoury combinations to bold blends inspired by flavours from around the world. Every jar is handcrafted in small batches and developed to bring something distinct to the table.
AND THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES
Ol’ Yeller honours the Coney Island classic. Honey brings Canadian sweetness. Curry builds on a house masala of more than a dozen spices. Creole and Berbere travel further, while Jalapeño Jerk adds smoky heat. Whisky Maple is distinctly Canadian, Dill Pickle is playfully nostalgic and Truffle Crunch turns indulgent.
These are not just toppings. Spoon them beside a cheese board, stir them into sauces and dressings, glaze something from the grill or let them become part of the recipe itself.
That is what makes Yellow Deer so interesting: something as familiar as mustard becomes an invitation to experiment.
